How to turn a snare into a lush melodic pad (sampling | sound design)

How to turn a snare into a lush melodic pad (sampling | sound design) Welcome to "Try This", a series where we want you to try a specific production technique shown in the video. We want you to take a snare drum sample and turn it into a lush chord progression (pad sound). How do you do this?

1. Find a snare sample
2. Drop the sample into a sampler instrument that can loop
3. Loop a very small segment of the snare (granular synthesis)
4. Increase the attack time and put a low pass filter on the snare
5. Put a MIDI chord progression on the track and add reverb

Here is the MIDI chord progression: (06 95 A#)
