Four teenagers who attacked a teenager as part of a 'turf war' between two upmarket Oxfordshire towns have been spared jail after their lawyers said they couldn't cope in prison. Kieran Clifton, Sean Smith, Daniel Clifford and Joshua Campbell set upon their 17-year-old victim in the market town of Watlington in March last year after claiming he was one of the 'Thame lot'. Thame is another town nearby.
Clifton, who had led the assault, admitted a charge of causing actual bodily harm. The other three men all admitted affray at Oxford Crown Court this week.

He screamed 'Get out of the f*****g car! I am going to smash your head in' as he rushed towards the vehicle, the court heard.
Clifton then dragged the victim out of his car, before the other three piled in, the court heard. The trio insist they only shouted at the victim while Clifton meted out the violence.
Jane Brady, Clifton's lawyer, pleaded for leniency at the sentencing hearing today, saying: 'It is fair to say he is absolutely terrified of going inside. His mother would have concerns about her son's ability to cope in such an environment.'
