NRC Debate: Is Amit Shah's NRC Pitch More Polarising Than Protecting? | To The Point Union Home Minister Amit Shah has told Parliament that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented nationwide. He informed the Rajya Sabha that no person, no matter what religion he or she followed, needed to be afraid.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has hit out Amit Shah and said that her Trinamool Congress government won't allow the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in her state.
She also added that no one could take anyone's citizenship away in Bengal, and that her government wouldn't divide people on communal lines.
