Mr Silva, who has been a key aide of Mr Cameron on the tech economy, opened up today on his second-ever meeting with Prince Andrew after the Duke’s interview with Newsnight on Saturday, where he discussed his relationship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.  Mr Silva alleged that Prince Andrew used, during a meeting in 2012, an expression commonly adopted in the US between the late 19th and early 20th century to refer to a hidden threat or problem but widely consider today a racist remark. On that occasion, Mr Silva said he asked the prince, known for his interest in the business world and entrepreneurship, whether the trade department could “be doing a better job”. Speaking to the Evening Standard, Mr Silva said: “‘Well,’ the Prince said with a smile, ‘If you’ll pardon the expression, that really is the n***** in the woodpile.’” Palace sources categorically denied Andrew ever used the phrase, according to the Evening Standard.  Express.co.uk has also contacted Buckingham Palace for a comment. Mr Silva said that the response the Duke allegedly gave shocked him to a point he could not answer back and express his feelings. The former aide continued: “And on he went, listing the various ways the department wasn’t up to scratch. “That expression he used to preface his comments, though: that one I did know.   “And I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t do anything about it — I felt overawed and extremely conscious of the gulf in status between the two of us. “The meeting ended shortly afterwards, and I remember distinctly how I walked blinking into the sunshine outside Buckingham Palace, reeling at the prince’s use of language. “For a long time after, I kicked myself for not confronting the prince on his choice of words — and it’s something I still regret today. “He clearly wasn’t taken to task very often by the people around him, which meant offensive language could go unchallenged.”   Mr Silva and Prince Andrew had attended another meeting together in 2011 - during which the Duke allegedly adopted another phrase in use during colonial times. During the closed-door discussion at Buckingham Palace, Mr Silva spoke of his Government’s relationship with the European Union and how some of Mr Cameron’s proposed reforms had successfully had an impact in Brussels. The prince, Mr Silva alleged, interrupted him to say: “What you have got to remember is that you’ll never get anywhere by playing the white man.” Mr Silva continued: “I genuinely didn’t know what he meant, and the discussion moved on.      “But the phrase ‘playing the white man’ stuck
