"Today, Georgia is hosting a very important forum, EU vs Disinformation. We are participating in this forum because this issue is extremely important. For our part, we will speak about the important steps taken by the Government of Georgia with the help of our international partners, and our joint steps taken on a daily basis in tackling disinformation. Emphasis will also be placed on what needs to be done in the future further to enhance our fight against disinformation," Natia Mezvrishvili said.
According to Natia Mezvrishvili, the Government of Georgia, with support from international partners, has taken effective steps in terms of strategic communications.
"The Government has recently taken a number of important steps by creating effective strategic communications mechanisms in particular Ministries and at the central level, in the Office of the Prime Minister. In this regard, we are closely cooperating with our partners, regularly holding training and conferences, also other activities to provide fact-based information," Natia Mezvrishvili stated.
The forum seems to inform the public on strategic communications and disinformation-related issues, also to share the experience of the EU and Eastern Partnership countries, and to foster citizen diplomacy.
