Why Should I Learn to Read Music

Why Should I Learn to Read Music In this video I will go over why should you learn to read music and what goals you want to achieve with reading music.

What are your goals for reading music?

If you want to read to learn songs off a page then you would want to learn chord symbols and tab.

If you want to start to learn more jazz and classical music then you will have to learn to read notes because a lot of information is presented in notes.

If you are a rock player, metal player, blues player, or pop player and you want to go deeper into the instrument and learn from other instruments such as, saxophonists, violinists and pianists then you have to learn to read music to study those types.

For me, when I learned to read notation really well, it opened up a lot of opportunities because I was able to learn from violin, guitar, bass or any musical book and be able to play it on guitar.

Learning how to read notes opened up my learning to being able to learn and play from any music book for every instrument, before I could read I couldn't do that.
