For any copyright, please send me a message.  A drugs gang who set fire to a series of homes in a bitter feud over the theft of a cannabis farm have been jailed.  Grant Leigh and Daniel Matley carried out a spate of arson attacks in Tameside after a rival gang stole a crop from them.  The dispute exploded in the early hours of Christmas Day 2017 when a terraced house on Clayton Street, Dukinfield was set alight, causing extensive damage to the front door and a Seat Ibiza parked outside.  Shortly before 12.45am on Boxing Day, police were called to the same street to reports a house and two cars were on fire. Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will start in 8Cancel Play now  Both homes were empty when the attacks took place.  Speaking at the time detectives said the the intention of the double attack was 'to cause fear and intimidation using fire as a weapon’.  A few weeks later, on January 13, a gunshot was fired at a house on Torrington Drive in Hattersley, shortly before a third house was set on fire a short distance away on Callington Drive.  Later that same day there was a deliberate car crash and a fight broke out between a group of men on Mottram Moor in Hollingworth.  A team of detectives was set up to investigate the attacks.  They found Leigh and Matley headed up a gang heavily involved in the large-scale production and supply of cannabis with a third man Jake Hulme dealing the drugs on the streets and maintaining the crop.  It was discovered that Leigh and Matley had a cannabis farm stolen from them by a rival gang, which is believed to have led to the series of retaliation arson attacks.  On January 23, 2018, Leigh and Matley were arrested in connection with the Christmas arsons.  The fires had caused over £110,000 of damage.  Leigh was arrested at home where officers found two mobile phones he had attempted to destroy, and 19 cannabis plants drying in his loft.  Matley was also arrested at home where petrol canisters and a document detailing how to set up a cannabis farm were recovered.  Telephone evidence revealed messages and videos between the men discussing the arson attacks, and the production and handling of the cannabis farm. On May 18, 2018, police raided Hulme’s home where he was arrested on suspicion of arson.  Officers found £100 worth of cannabis bush, a large quantity of empty snap bags, digital scales and over £700 in cash.  Hulme was released on bail, and was later arrested again in a stolen car and found to be in possession of several hundred pounds worth of heroin.  On Tuesday at Minshull Street Crown Court Leigh, 28, of Marler Road, Hyde pleaded guilty to arson, conspiracy to produce cannabis and conspiracy to supply cannabis and was jailed
