A fireside chat with Leigh Smith (Landr)

In this first Fireside Chat, I’ve had the privilege to interview Leigh Smith, senior research engineer at Landr, the AI audio mastering startup. Leigh has a long experience developing AI music systems both in academia and at music startups.

In our conversation, we covered all things AI and music. Leigh introduced me to his pioneering academic research, which used neural networks to study music already in the 90s. We went on to discuss the impact of AI on music creativity and touched upon the challenges that audio startups face when developing AI applications.
