Paul’s timeline so far: February 2019 Paul wrote the lyrics to Destination Unsure Road - with no clue as to what was to come. The lyrics are so poignant as they talk of this unsure journey that lies ahead, a one way ticket.
August 29th 2019 Paul went to work as usual but was taken to Addenbrookes that evening following a seizure. He had a CT scan that evening, that confirmed he had a brain tumour.
October 7th 2019 Paul had surgery, where they found he actually had two brain tumours. Both were removed.
October 17th 2019 Biopsy results confirmed Paul had Glioblastoma Multiforme, a very aggressive, incurable cancer that is Stage 4 - terminal.
October 22nd 2019 following leakage from the wound, Paul was admitted to Addenbrookes with Meningitis - the infection in his brain had entered via the wound leak. Paul had a lumbar drain inserted for four days and was on intravenous antibiotics, staying in hospital for nearly 3 weeks.
November 22nd 2019 Following MRI scan, we were informed the tumour had started to grow back.
December 9th 2019 Paul embarked on 3 weeks of high intensity radiotherapy, which finished on 30th December 2019. There will be no further treatment.
Paul will have his next MRI scan at the end of March 2020.
In the meantime, Paul is full of positivity and is living each day at a time, doing the things he loves, with the family and friends he loves. Paul's now famous motto "Onwards and upwards!".
