Liverpool have tabled a £12.8million (€15m) bid for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to the Turkish side’s club president. Liverpool were forced into signing free agent shot-stopper Adrian at the start of the season following the departure of Simon Mignolet. The Spaniard has performed well, notably saving a penalty in the side’s European Super Cup victory over Chelsea, but Liverpool want to find more competition for first-choice keeper Alisson Becker. Cakir has caught the eye of Liverpool scouts following his performances for Trabzonspor over the past few seasons. Trabzonspor have the fifth-best defensive record this season in the Turkish Super Lig and 23-year-old Cakir has been at the heart of it. And club president Ahmet Agaoglu claims Trabsonzpor have received an offer for their No 1 from Liverpool. However, Trabzonspor are keen to hold on to their prized asset until after Euro 2020.
