Artelexia is Sharing the Vibrant Culture of Mexico with the World

Artelexia is Sharing the Vibrant Culture of Mexico with the World Elexia de la Parra opens up about her unique San Diego shop and her love of celebrating Mexican culture. Brought to you by GoDaddy.

On a family trip to Mexico in 2009, Elexia felt compelled to bring back a hand-picked assortment of trinkets and goods to sell at her local farmers market. By February of the next year, she opened Artelexia, a cheery shop stocked with a curated collection of Mexican gifts, art, home decor and gourmet foods. With its bright colors, creative murals and the sounds of Mexican music, Artelexia also hosts art shows and workshops and community events. Their yearly Day of the Dead Festival teaches locals about Mexico’s culture and traditions and allows them to immerse themselves in the beauty of the country’s rich heritage. Past the borders of San Diego, Elexia partners with Eat.Drink.Cook.Mexico to guide craft and culinary trips, allowing folks to experience firsthand the authentic food and rich Hispanic culture.
