Coronavirus tally in outbreak epicentre Wuhan, China may just be ‘tip of the iceberg’

With 2,345 new cases reported in China’s central province of Hubei as of midnight February 3, 2020, medical experts warned that the official number of coronavirus infections might not reflect the true scale of the outbreak, since many patients may be undiagnosed. Of the new cases reported, 1,242 were in Wuhan, the provincial capital and where the contagion, also known as 2019-nCoV, reportedly began.
