How to First Class Goalkeeping Drill E52 Moving and Diving Saves Junior Goalkeeper. Episode Fifty-Two: 3 Marker Touch

I recommend you emphasise the fast tempo during the reps of the drill.
As the exercise works one ball at a time, the work rate during that is highly important.

Place 3 markers on the 6 yard line. 2 markers the distance of the posts and 1 in line with the penalty spot.
With service at 18 yards, the goalkeepers positioning should be that of the situation so 2 to 3 yards off their line.

I use a vocal start, by calling a colour marker. On this call the goalkeeper runs to touch the marker before turning and getting back to defend their goal from the incoming shot.
The earlier the goalkeeper can turn their head and get eyes onto the ball, it is then easier to react to the shot.
Movement is key to the drill with side steps highly effective. Watch for crossing feet and reinforce the importance of good feet.
Different service types will expand the drill. I've used ground strikes, volleys and bounced throws. If calling a wide marker shoot at the opposite side of the goal but when the middle marker is called make the goalkeeper aware that this shot will be aimed at either side making the drill more realistic and game related.

Goalkeeper.
