This is Venice's world-famous masquerade carnival where people get around in very elaborate masks. But this year much less impressive masks seemed to be the most popular. Carnival goers are trying to protect themselves from COVID-19. The disease is causing big problems in Italy at the moment. On Friday there were just 3 confirmed cases, but today there's around 150. Here in Venice, the last two days of the carnival have been cancelled, something not everyone's happy about. Precautions are being taken all around Italy. Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 show chose to have no crowd and even Italy's top soccer league is cancelling games. In north Italian towns, where most of the outbreaks are, 50,000 people have been in lockdown since Friday night. People flocked to the shops to stock up on supplies, with businesses and schools being shut down, and normally busy streets look like ghost towns as people try to stay safe.
BILLIE EILISH TOPS UK CHARTS
Billie Eilish has topped the UK charts with her new song No Time To Die. The single is the theme for the new James Bond movie, and it's breaking a lot of records. Billie became the first female and youngest artist to top the charts for a bond song, and it's already become the highest selling theme ever! So while there might be no time to die, there's certainly time to celebrate.
ADELAIDE 500 RACE
Alright, imagine leading a car race, then forgetting one thing, petrol! Well that's what happened to Holden Red Bull racing's Shane Van Gisbergen in race 2 of the Superloop 500 in Adelaide. This mistake meant that Ford's Scott Mclaughlin was able to take the win for his second year in a row!
WOMEN'S T20 WORLD CUP
Australia's start to the Women's T20 World Cup hasn't quite gone to plan. They fell to India in their tournament opener after being absolutely bamboozled by leg spinner Poonam Yadav. Yadav ended up taking four wickets and was so close to a hat trick. The Aussies ended up falling 17 runs short and take on Sri Lanka later tonight.
STEVE SMITH AMAZING SAVE
Aussie cricket star Steve Smith stopped a certain six with this incredible diving save in South Africa. Although South Africa came out on top in the end, winning by 12 runs.
MARCO TILIO DEBUT GOAL
Sydney FC's Marco Tilio made his A-League debut on the weekend and then, 75 seconds later, this happened! The 18-year-old snagged his first goal and the record for the fastest debut goal in the A league. That's one way to start your career.
JURGEN KLOPP LETTER
10-year-old Daragh definitely qualifies as cheeky. He's a Manchester United fan, and wrote a letter to the boss of rival club, Liverpool, asking him to make them lose. To his surprise, Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp actually wrote back. No promises of losing though.
UNDIES RACE
Yes, there's no better word to describe this race, it's an underpants run in Serbia. Competitors ran one and a half kays along the Danube river in Belgrade. The key to winning? Wearing your best undies! Stretching apparently helps, too.
SEAGULL FESTIVAL
There's nothing cheekier than a seagull stealing your hot chips and I wouldn't put that past this lot. They gathered in the town of Dunkirk in France to compete in the Seagull Cry Competition. 15 wannabe seagulls brandished this banana as a microphone and let loose. Costumes are encouraged, the shrill cries are mandatory. I think earplugs should be, too.
