Audio Verse 1-7 English translation below...

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Judgement/Resurrection)

You (Alone) we worship, and you (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

Guide us to the Straight Way

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray.

AMEEN.

This greatest Surah of Quran is a source of enlightenment for its readers. Reciting this Surah, one gets a way to get the favor of Allah. The Surah is really effective to light up the spirit of faith in the heart of a Muslim. Start your day with the recitation of Surah Fatiha and get help from Allah.

Surah Fatiha is also called Umm Al-Kitab, because it lays the foundation to the entire Quran as Quran starts with it and also prayer is started by reciting it.

The whole Surah Al-Fatihah is a comprehensive dua/supplication so it is recommended to say Amin after finishing the recitation of Al-Fatihah.  Ameen means, "O Allah! Accept our invocation.''

Ahmad ibn Hanbal recorded in his Musnad (Hadith collection) that Abu Sa'id bin Al-Mu'alla had said:

"I was praying when the Prophet called me, so I did not answer him until I finished the prayer. I then went to him and he said, 'What prevented you from coming?' I said, 'O Messenger of God! I was praying.' He said, 'Didn't God say, "O you who believe! Answer God (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life."?' He then said, 'I will teach you the greatest Surah in the Qur'an before you leave the Masjid (Mosque).' He held my hand and when he was about to leave the Masjid, I said, 'O Messenger of God! You said: "I will teach you the greatest Surah in the Qur'an."' He said, 'Yes.' "Al-Hamdu lillahi Rabbil-'Alamin," It is the seven repeated (verses) and the Glorious Qur'an that I was given." (Al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah also recorded this Hadith.)
