Boris Johnson's Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has confirmed that the UK will leave the EASA European aviation safety authority. The plan post brexit is for the British CAA to take over the rule. The UK currently pay £1.5 million as a member of EASA, the new cost is estimated to be about £40 million to cover the same activities done by the European agency. British industry has reacted negatively saying this risks thousands of jobs.
