Following govt advice is 'effective' response to coronavirus

Following govt advice is 'effective' response to coronavirus The Australian Medical Association Vice President Dr Chris Zappala says following the advice from health officials is a “very effective” way of reducing the spread of the coronavirus.

A Sydney doctor has become one of the latest Australians to test positive to coronavirus, bringing the total number of infected to 40.

Mr Zappala told Sky News “isolation of these cases and quick action is the best way for us keeping this all under wraps as much as possible”.

He said “planning is going on to accommodate and manage a much wider spread of the virus in Australia” amid fears the number of cases will soar after two people were infected by human-to-human transmission.

“One of the issues that will come out of the planning is making sure everyone is appropriately trained,” he said.

“Being prepared in advance is appropriate.”
