Tax relief provided to coronavirus-affected businesses

Tax relief provided to coronavirus-affected businesses The Queensland state government is offering a six-month breather for payroll tax bills for coronavirus-hit businesses.

The measure will see businesses with up to a $6.5 million wage bill defer that payment.

The government is also launching an unprecedented tourism campaign urging Queenslanders to holiday in their own backyard over Easter, to help the struggling tourism industry.

The China travel ban has already cost the state tourism industry an estimated $1 billion, and that figure is expected to double.
