Remember that you are always "on stage" and always being evaluated. I recently had a conversation with a developer in Florida during an event. I did not know what he did for a living; however we talked about real estate for nearly 30 minutes. After the conversation, he handed me a business card and invited me to lunch with his partner. They are looking at doing a large acquisition to put up a mixed use development in Lee County Florida. The entire conversation was an interview.
