The coronavirus apparently has people shopping more online.
According to Statistics Korea, the value of online transactions in January rose to about 10 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of more than 15 percent from a year earlier.
Household goods, like hand sanitizer, rose overall by 22 percent.
The value of online food service orders was up more than 69 percent.
More of these transactions were done using smartphones, which increased by more than 21 percent.
