Redefining Value: How Any Business Can Be The World's Most Valuable | Andrew Baughen | TEDxClayton

Redefining Value: How Any Business Can Be The World's Most Valuable | Andrew Baughen | TEDxClayton How would our perspective on business change if we redefined and expanded our vision of the value it can generate? In this talk Andrew Baughen draws on a varied set of experiences as a photographer, strategy consultant, church minister and business school researcher to reevaluate all the valuable ways a business adds to customers, markets and the public square. This thoughtful and reflective talk challenges the tradeoff between grabbing for yourself or giving to others and proposes the win-win alternative of a generative mindset. It outlines a new way of assessing the value we generate beyond mere financial returns and invites us to consider afresh what is worth giving our heart and soul to. Andrew has worked as a management consultant in banking strategy and as the Vicar of Saint James Clerkenwell, a church in London’s design and tech district. He continues to work in the ‘theotech’ sector at the intersection of business and theology. He is developing Soulful Enterprise which measures the wide range of value generated by an organization that make it soul-full rather than soul-less.

Andrew is Programme Director of The School of Faith and an author and speaker on church strategy. He is an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Management, Cass Business School, City, University of London.

Andrew is married to Rachel and they have two daughters. He enjoys cycling, photography and eating dessert. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
