Weekly Torah Portion: Vayeshev

Weekly Torah Portion: Vayeshev Parashat Vayeshev begins the painful story of brothers whose enmity toward their precocious younger brother Yosef and the preferential treatment he receives from their father is so great that it tears the family apart and sets the groundwork for centuries of bondage in Egypt. But it also chronicles the origins of the two messianic figures who will play a role in Israel's future redemption: Messiah son of Yosef and Messiah son of David.

Vayeshev (Genesis 37:1 - 40:23)
Parashat Vayeshev is read on Shabbat:
Kislev 23, 5780/December 21, 2019
