Hi! My name is Alice, and I’d like to tell you all about how I discovered a big family secret. My big brother… is part pig!
Yes, you’re reading that right.
You see, I was young when I heard my parents speaking about my older brother, Lucas. Lucas was three years older than me. He was kind of silly but I loved him. You know, like every sister has to love her big brother.
But I loved to tease him! And when I caught my parents speaking about how my brother had some parts of a pig inside him, I couldn’t help but laugh about it!
So I began teasing Lucas about it. All the time! Of course, I was young, so I didn’t really understand what my mom and dad could mean by the fact that Lucas had something to do with pigs. I just thought it was so funny, and maybe that he was related to Peppa pig.
I began making oink noises at him, and when I asked him to come with me, I’d always scream “Here, piggy, piggy”
I even started calling him George instead of Lucas. Why? Well, that’s Peppa pig’s brother’s name! I thought I was so clever!
I know this all sounds really mean. And looking back, I know it was. I wish I had been nicer to my big brother! Nowadays we get along super well, but back then… well, he couldn’t stand his baby sister constantly teasing him.
I can’t say I blame him. I must have been annoying teasing him about that pig stuff back then. I even told all my friends at school that my brother was related to a pig. I figured he must have been my half brother or something because I knew I had absolutely no pig in me!
Now, my brother wasn’t too popular, to begin with. The way I behaved made it even worse for him, but he was kind of an outcast far before I began teasing him. Why? Well, let’s just say my parents were always crazy overprotective of him.
In case you are wondering, yes, it does have to do with the pig thing I heard them speaking about. I’ll explain soon.
What you need to know, is that my brother wasn’t allowed to play outside… like ever! So while other kids ran around the playground, he was forced to stay inside the school’s building and be all alone. He sometimes read, other times he stared out the window longingly. It was so sad! That was one of the reasons why he had almost no friends.
But aside from that, he never was allowed to go to other kids’ slumber parties or anything of the sort. Mom later explained that this was because my brother’s health was kind of delicate, but I didn’t understand it back then.
I just thought people didn’t like him because his father was a pig or something.
